The second pass circuit of Ulea started this morning to pump water from the river Segura to the main channel of the left bank of the Tajo-Segura, after completing the installation work and connection to the grid of the three new pipelines and their associated motors.
In total, the first and second pass circuit together provide about 7.5 cubic meters of water per second to the aqueduct.
The performance of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS), declared of urgency, has boosted the flow received from the aqueduct late July through the first pass circuit, and to meet the demand of all end users while repair diversion tunnel, scheduled for next January.
This work, which represents an investment of two million euros, was executed in less than a month.
