José Ibeas Ruiz receives the special award for his professional career and work in favor of the efficient conservation of construction
Seven buildings located in the municipalities of Murcia, Cartagena, San Pedro del Pinatar and Ulea are awarded in the eighth edition of the Building Quality Awards of the Region of Murcia.
In addition, three other properties have received special mention in these awards granted by the regional government, the Official Association of Quantity Surveyors, Technical Architects and Building Engineers of the Region, the Regional Federation of Construction Entrepreneurs and the Cajamurcia Foundation.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, Patricio Valverde, reported today the jury's decision of these awards, which have been awarded since 2004 on a biennial basis and distinguish the works that guarantee the quality, safety, habitability, suitability and durability of the buildings.
In this edition, a total of 37 candidatures from the Region have attended.
Valverde was accompanied by the President of the Association of Surveyors, Technical Architects and Building Engineers, Antonio Luis Mármol, the President of the Federation of Construction Entrepreneurs, Luis Ramón Fernández Mula, and the representative of the Cajamurcia Foundation, Federico Ros.
The jury awarded the prize in the category 'Buildings for collective residential use' to the Casino de Murcia building, and in this same modality, a special mention to the Rosales 13 building in Molina de Segura.
In the category 'Buildings for institutional use', the prize went to the General Archive of the Region of Murcia, and a mention to the Public Library of Lorca.
The prize for the building of 'Tourist use' has relapsed ex aequo in the Interpretation Center Muralla Púnica of Cartagena and Hotel Lodomar (San Pedro del Pinatar).
In the modality of 'Rehabilitation with public investment', the Palace Museum of the Baron de Benifayó, also known as the Russian House of San Pedro del Pinatar, and the Bernal Theater of El Palmar de Murcia, with a mention, have been distinguished. the category 'Rehabilitation private investment' to the estate the Park of the Countess of Ulea.
The award for buildings for 'Other uses' has been for the headquarters of Ibermutuamur de Murcia.
Also, the jury has decided to award a special prize to José Ibeas Ruiz for his meritorious professional career and his work in favor of the efficient conservation of construction.
The prizes consist of a sculpture for the owner of the building, for the architect and the technical architect or rigger who directed the construction or rehabilitation work, and a diploma for the promoter.
In addition, a catalog will be published with the winning projects that can be consulted on the web of the prizes.
They will be presented at a gala on April 9 at the Víctor Villegas Auditorium in Murcia.
II Week of the Quality in the Edificación
This year will be held the Second Week of Quality in Building, from 8 to 10 April, to value the built heritage of the region and promote good practices in new work and promote quality in buildings, rehabilitation and the maintenance of buildings, contributing to urban renovation and regeneration and improving the accessibility of buildings and energy efficiency.
The II Week of the Quality in the Edificación consists of technical days, cultural talks and an exhibition of materials, constructive systems, tests and equipment.
