The Autonomous Community and the City Council of Ulea are working on the improvement and extension of the bridge on the RM-B14 road, linking the town with Villanueva del Río Segura, which will allow this infrastructure to have two-way traffic.
This was stated today by the Minister of the Presidency and Promotion, Pedro Rivera, the Mayor of Ulea, Victor Manuel Lopez, in a meeting in which he explained that "to carry out the work will require the expropriation of adjoining lands by the municipality and endow it with a budget item in the next fiscal year. "
Both institutions agreed on the need to sign an agreement to carry out this action which, in the words of the councilor, "would enable an improvement in mobility and road safety between municipalities, and would also include the asphalting of a section of the road RM-B14 ".
Pedro Rivera explained that this month the technicians of the General Direction of Highways will finalize the study of unfolding of the highway of Ulea.
The counselor recalled one of the last actions that his Department carried out in this locality and that "had a great impact in terms of road safety", and were the reconstruction works of a slope and a wall in the highway RM-523, that connects municipality with the motorway A-30 (Albacete-Murcia-Cartagena).
This work had an investment of about 345,000 euros, and consisted of increasing the protection and containment of the road, and prevent new landslides from occurring on the road.
