The Governing Council has given the green light to the conclusion of a collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Presidency and Development and the City of Ulea for the construction of a new bridge on the Segura River, on the regional road RM-B14, which will unite the populations of Ulea and Villanueva del Río Segura.
The new infrastructure will be built next to the current bridge, which will be used as a pedestrian walkway for the residents of the town, and provide greater road safety to drivers to resolve the danger of crossing two vehicles at the same time and the poor state of conservation of the old viaduct.
Under the agreement, the City of Ulea assumes the cost of the expropriation of land required for the completion of the work (12,260 euros), which will be managed by the Directorate General of Roads, while the Ministry of Presidency and Development will take charge of the execution of the new infrastructure, which will involve an investment of 1,725,971 euros.
