The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Housing and Architecture, has signed three agreements with the City of Ulea for the renewal of the urban image of the neighborhood of new homes, rehabilitation of the environment of the church St. Bartholomew and the drafting of the project for upgrading the Plaza de la Constitution.
The Autonomous Region will invest 270,000 euros in implementing these projects, which will also have municipal finance.
"These three activities of general interest that will revitalize the architectural heritage of Ulea through the upgrading of those which feature environmental and architectural uniqueness," said the general director of Housing and Architecture, Mark Nogueroles.
The actions to be undertaken in the neighborhood of new homes will improve the streets Ana Caicedo, Beautiful Country and Murcia Avenue, located on the outskirts of town.
The intervention, 50 percent financed by the Community and the City, go towards the realization of works in the envelope of the buildings and their surroundings.
New Home neighborhood is composed of duplex terraced houses that were conceived within a cosmetic unit.
Currently, the buildings have changed their appearance due to the different actions that have been carried out individually, so that intervention is necessary to unify the architectural.
Recover the original settings of the environment
The project to be carried out by the Directorate General of Architecture will homogenize the urban image of the four blocks that make up the neighborhood, giving the homes of the same elements and coatings.
The project includes the rehabilitation of roofs of buildings, the execution of pending and new insulation, replacement of floor tile and steps by other entries stoneware, the modification of air conditioning systems, new locks and carpentry exterior, installation of double glazed windows, replacement of chimney smoke and exterior paint on the walls.
Around the church of San Bartolomé
In addition, Public Works conducted in the municipality of Ulea the rehabilitation of two buildings located in the vicinity of the Church of St. Bartholomew, an area classified as a Cultural.
The autonomous region began interventions in this area of special architectural interest in 1998, having restored until today a total of nine buildings.
The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Housing and Architecture, will fund 75 percent of the action, while the City of Ricote contribute 25 per cent.
Improvement of the Plaza de la Constitution
Also within the church environment, the Directorate General of Housing and Architecture has awarded a grant Ulea City Council to draft the proposed refurbishment of the Plaza de la Constitution, which will finance one hundred per cent of the project.
