The Director General of Planning and Housing, Antonio Navarro, today presented the draft design of the Plaza de la Constitution Ulea, accompanied by its mayor, José Luis Bolarín, whose preparation was financed by the Ministry of Public Works and Planning and that will renew the city's image and improve access to this public space located in the center of town.
The square is included in the environment of cultural interest of the Church of St. Bartholomew, and sixteenth-century Moorish origin, "so it is a social interest action that will provide residents Ulea a public space for coexistence that will become one of the main points of the town meeting, "said Antonio Navarro.
Action is framed within the program of revitalization of urban spaces which aims to fund those activities to improve and transform the image of iconic places and spaces in the 45 municipalities of the Region.
Currently, most of its space is used for parking of vehicles.
The result of the works will turn the plaza into a pedestrian zone, which will be completely renovated the pavement and street furniture.
Also be renovated premises are located in front and below the stairs to the church.
The car parks will be eliminated, but will continue their movement.
"The refurbishment works of the square will result in a more avant-garde that will significantly improve the distribution of space, creating a comfortable and pleasant to use all local residents," the director general.
